Manoj Dinesh, Senior Software Engineer

About me

I build things on the web.

I've been a full stack developer for over 9 years. I like taking an idea and turning it into something that actually works: clear interfaces, solid APIs, and deployments that hold up.

I care about readable code and simple architecture. I work mostly with React, Node, TypeScript and the usual tooling, and I'm happy to learn something new when the project needs it.

I use AI tools heavily in my day-to-day: Cursor, Claude, ChatGPT, and Gemini for coding, design, and content. I've used them in side projects and I use them actively at Atlassian.

On the side I build and look after sites for local businesses and communities: a temple, a construction company, a small brand. I enjoy helping them get a proper presence online.

Professional Work Experience

  • Senior Software Engineer P50 @ Atlassian
    (Jun 2025 - Present)
    • Working on the Assets and Data Manager team, a product for Jira Service Management (JSM) premium users.
    • Building features that help teams manage assets and data within JSM.
    • Using AI tools (Cursor, Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini) actively in development and design.
  • Software Engineer 3 @ PayPal
    (Apr 2021 - Apr 2025)
    • Led work on a Node.js, React and Kraken.js app for PayPal merchants (transaction management and reporting, 35M+ users).
    • Built a config-driven framework for report downloads so new features went from 2 sprints to about 2 days.
    • Improved page performance: latency down by about 80%, load time from 14s to 2.7s.
    • Deprecated the old insights app and shipped a new one; added BFF APIs and a GraphQL layer so we could federate data across PayPal and Braintree.
  • Software Engineer 2 @ PayPal
    (Feb 2019 - Mar 2021)
    • Built web apps with Node.js, React and Kraken.js for PayPal merchants, wiring in mid-tier services for transaction flows.
    • Helped migrate legacy customer-facing apps (35M+ users) to Node.js and React.
    • Served as Scrum Master for a year.
    • Ramped up unit and E2E tests (Nightwatch, Cypress) across four web apps.
  • Software Engineer 2 @ Micro Focus (formerly Hewlett Packard Enterprise) iconSoftware Engineer 2 @ Micro Focus (formerly Hewlett Packard Enterprise)

    • Worked with product and other teams to ship features and align Hewlett Packard Enterprise products with Micro Focus design guidelines.
  • Software Engineer 1 @ Micro Focus (formerly Hewlett Packard Enterprise) iconSoftware Engineer 1 @ Micro Focus (formerly Hewlett Packard Enterprise)
    (Sep 2016 - Oct 2018)
    • Built a React, Redux, Node and Express app for Data Center Automation using our in-house Grommet component library.
    • Helped create a shared component library and npm packages so our products looked and behaved consistently.
    • Used Golang for APIs and Docker/Kubernetes for deployment and orchestration.

Side Projects

GemsEarth, Prasna (PlanetaryMatrix), Bhartiya Ved Vigyan Parishad, and Balaganpathi Knowledge Archive are built for the same client. @Balaganpathi on X.

  • GemsEarthIn progress

Full-stack e-commerce for gemstones, sacred objects, jewelry, and aromatics: browsable catalog with faceted search, cart and checkout with India-focused shipping, and an admin back office for products, content, orders, and rates. Built with Next.js (App Router), React, Tailwind, and Prisma on PostgreSQL so the brand gets a real storefront instead of only marketplaces or static pages.

  • Production site for a classical Jyotisa and Vastu practice: consultation catalog, rules and SEO-friendly service pages, and a full booking flow (single service and multi-item cart) with UPI, bank transfer, and PayPal including a configurable surcharge and clear international currency messaging. Built with Next.js (App Router), Tailwind, Prisma/PostgreSQL, and content-driven copy so editors can tune prices and UI text without digging through components; includes hardened public APIs (validation, rate limits, optional reCAPTCHA), email notifications, and admin booking handling.

  • Course management platform in progress for Bhartiya Ved Vigyan Parishad: a home for structured programs spanning classical Jyotisa, Vastu, and adjacent subjects, with enrollments, lesson paths, and admin workflows so offerings can scale cleanly for both students and staff.

  • Online store for Mayur Enterprises: eco-friendly cotton and jute bags, totes for businesses and events. Using AI-assisted workflows for content and UX. Gives the brand a proper storefront and reaches people who want sustainable packaging and promo bags.

  • Built a Next.js + TypeScript knowledge platform showcasing the teachings and insights of @Balaganpathi from Twitter/X. Engineered a custom data pipeline to parse 4,100+ posts, reconstruct self-reply threads, merge note tweets, and organize content into 7 curated categories. Delivered a high-performance static-JSON experience with search, filters, sorting, media-rich browsing, and dedicated Twitter Spaces discovery.

  • Site for a temple in Bangalore. The website supports both Kannada and English. Includes Cashfree payment gateway integration for donations and seva bookings, plus an admin panel. Built with Next.js and deployed on Vercel.

  • Site for a local construction company in Bengaluru. Built with Next.js; used AI tools for content and design. Shows their projects and services and helps them reach people looking for construction or renovation.
